I am not going to say a lot about the immigration "debate" that is ongoing, but my husband sent me an article I found illuminating, so here is the link: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=49713
Be sure to go back and read the second to last paragraph again. Really amazing, eh? Plus, I'd actually forgotten the Immigration bill that really pushed us into this mess. Good review here.

My problem with this whole mess, is that I know they will win it. Mostly because they can mobilize a lot of people quickly. Just look at the marches all over the country in the past few weeks.
What would happen if we heald a march? Would they riot in the streets? I am afraid that they would and we would be labled as racist. We can't possibly show our numbers in a way that they can... there is no way for justice to win... I think that our country and our way of life is in great trouble.
I am really truely afraid that you are right. I just do not know what anyone can do about it at this point, except I sure wish that the existing laws would be enforced.
I took a walk today and passed by 3 workmen in our housing development where new units are being built. They were black and when I first noticed them, I thought, "good--they are Americans." But when I got up close, I could hear them talking. I could not tell what language it was--unusual for me. But I immediately wondered if they were legal. Not something I used to think about much, let alone automatically. What a world :(
though i'm pretty sure i would agree with most (if not all) of the article... i couldn't get past it being ann coulter. she scares me. heh.
and... the reason illegals will "win" is because those of us who could do something about it, sit back in awe that illegals are privvy to the same rights as we are, and instead of getting out there and yelling louder, and refusing to spend our money for one single freakin' day to prove a point- we hope washington will wake up from its idiot coma and do something about it. after all, it's their job. all i know is the next election, whomever has voted for amnesty in any form (whether it passes or not), i'm automatically voting against. i don't care if mickey mouse is the opponent.
GRRRRRR
heh.
FF, Please, please get over the Ann Coulter thing--I may not agree with everything she says, but reading he is very informative. I've found that in recent years I learn as much--if not more--of what is really going on in the world by reading the opinion pages as by reading the front pages of the newspaper! Now THAT is scarey--but true.
